Dear GoochlandCares Supporters,

It’s hard to believe that I’ve already completed my first 30 days as CEO of GoochlandCares. As I reflect on my first month, I am filled with gratitude for the warm welcome I’ve received from all of you. Your passion for the mission of GoochlandCares is downright inspiring. For me, this is a time of listening and learning to gain deeper appreciation for the incredible work we can do together.

As I look around the building every day, I am struck by our sense of community commitment. Staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners alike share a hello in the halls, on their way to give or receive food, clothing, housing assistance, health care, and other vital resources. I’ve been impressed by the depth and complexity of each of our 12 life-changing programs.

Internally, I see staff and volunteers working every day to make our programs as effective and uplifting as they can be. This dedicated team of professionals, all under one roof, shows expertise and kindness.

At the same time, I have seen the critical need in our community. Every day, families facing hunger, health challenges, or emergency situations come to our building for a helping hand. Individuals who have no one else to turn, turn to GoochlandCares. Our team does everything possible to focus on dignity and empathy for those we serve.

As we look ahead, my focus remains on fostering trust, innovation, and effective service to our neighbors. Together, we will continue to serve Goochland and celebrate our shared successes. With your support, I am confident we will make an even greater impact in the years to come.

I hope that you’ll join me in celebration of Sally Graham’s legacy on November 7th for our Community Open House and Retirement Celebration (more information below). I look forward to meeting more of you in-person, and thanking Sally for her years of special service.
