Goochland, VA – Goochland Free Clinic & Family Services (GFCFS) and its Board of Directors announced today that Lisa Luck will be the Chair for the ALL. HERE. NOW. Capital Campaign. The capital campaign is to fund construction of a new building that will combine eleven critical assistance programs including the medical clinic, dental clinic, food pantry, and Clothes Closet in one location. GFCFS’s current facilities at three separate locations with limited space constrictions are no longer adequate to provide the high level of care for Goochland individuals and families in need. In 2015, GFCFS provided services for over 1,700 Goochland residents.
Lisa will lead the Capital Campaign Cabinet and Advisory Council comprised of Goochland residents and other interested talent. The group will realize the organization’s vision of integrating all services in one place to better assist those in need here in Goochland. Lisa and her husband, Charlie, are known for their philanthropy and generous contributions of time and leadership to numerous organizations focused on education, leadership, the environment, and community outreach. The Luck families were named Individual Philanthropist of the Year in 2015 by The National Philanthropy Day Nominations Committee and Board of the Central Virginia AFP chapter.
“With her philanthropy experience and her active commitment to the Goochland community, we are thrilled to have Lisa lead this campaign,” said Liz Rider, president of the GFCFS Board of Directors. “Our neighbors in need, who so desperately depend on our services, cannot wait. The time to move forward is now, and we hope to be in the new building by the summer of 2018.” “Why did I agree to lead this campaign for GFCFS? It is simple. Because it could just as easily be me and my family in need. I believe in this organization’s dedication to respond to the needs of those in our community. GFCFS delivers an unparalleled quality of services safely, efficiently, privately, and with dignity,” adds Lisa. “I strongly feel we all have some level of responsibility to help our neighbors who struggle every day have access to the very basic of human needs – food, shelter, clothes, and healthcare.” GFCFS’ ALL.
