The Richard S. Reynolds Foundation has awarded $250,000 to Goochland Free Clinic and Family Services (GFCFS) to support the ALL.HERE.NOW. Capital Campaign. The gift will go towards funding construction of a new building that will combine eleven critical assistance programs, including medical and dental clinics, food pantry, and Clothes Closet, in one location. GFCFS’ current facilities at three separate locations with severely limited space are no longer adequate to provide the high level of care for Goochland individuals and families in need. In 2016, GFCFS services impacted more than 1700 Goochland residents. “The Goochland Free Clinic is one of the most effective organizations in this area.  All of us at the Richard S. Reynolds Foundation are strongly supportive of its work and pleased to be able to give some assistance to that work especially now that so many members of the family live in the county,” said Richard S. Reynolds, III, President of the Richard S. Reynolds Foundation. “We are so grateful for the support from the Richard S. Reynolds Foundation,” added Lisa Luck, Capital Campaign Chair, GFCFS, “and for understanding our vision to provide the highest quality of services and to prepare to meet our community’s needs – now and in the future – here in Goochland.” The Richard S. Reynolds Foundation was established in Richmond, Virginia, in 1955. It has provided $50 million in grants to community and worldwide organizations, supporting a broad range of causes such as education, the arts, health, science, history, the environment and those in need. From scientific research to educational initiatives, the Foundation is devoted to building strong communities and creating a positive and enduring impact on the world. GFCFS plans to build a 20,000 square foot building on the current site of the Family Services’ offices at 3001 River Road West as well as convert the existing main building into emergency housing. This central site was chosen to make it easier for clients to access all services. Goochland Free Clinic & Family Services is a non-profit organization that provides access to health care and basic human services to Goochland residents in need. GFCFS is a private, 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation supported by individuals, churches, grants, and businesses who share its vision.
